The Register reports today the the IndiaTimes website is a launchpad for a variety of attacks against visitor's browsers and computers, even in cases where the operating system is kept up to date.  Read the article here for more details.

I can attest to the fact that even though it is a member of the Times Of India group, it is designed in a very amateur way.  The number and content of pop-up windows is more like that of a dubious warez site than that of a professionally-run web portal.

The solution to the problem is simple ... switch to Mozilla Firefox.  It's faster, gets the job done and is light years better in terms of security.
